Insolent, rude and nasty employee

Visited the Subway near my home. Went inside to order 4 sandwiches and chips to go. A smug, insolent older mexican lady asked if she could take my order. I responded that I wanted four , 6″ sandwiches, 3 on Italian bread 1 on Italian herbs and cheese. Once she had gotten the breads she asked me a question I could not understand due to my hearing loss. I asked her to slow down so I could understand what she had asked. At that point she became very aggravated. I can only presume she thought I had insulted her. I had not. She asked me what I wanted on the first sandwich. I told her what I wanted, and she then asked me what I wanted on the second sandwich. I told her meatballs. As she was taking the meatbals out to put on the second sandwich, I asked her to please cut the meatballs in half when she got them on the bread. She looked at a co-worker who told her I wanted them cut in half. She looked at me and said “no”.  I was a little confused and asked what she meant. She said she would not cut them. I asked why, and she did not answer. She just kept on with the sandwich. I asked her again to please cut the meatballs in half. She responded no again. I told her that she could just cancel the order and left.

Why would anyone keep this kind of employee ? There were no other customers there. This type of behavior in a retail food establishment should not be tolerated. It was obvious this employee did not want to be there. And her sullen demeanor and attitude will definitely keep me from ever going back there. I checked the reviews when I got home, and there were numerous complaints about this same woman and similar behavior. Someone that has money in this venture should be more attentive to complaints. You can’t make any money if you have an employee running all the customers off.
